Summer inspired Haiku Poetry

every shade of blue

not a cloud in the big sky

it feels like summer

heat is stifling

ice tea, sunglasses, cool pool

help take the edge off

asleep in the sun

red as a boiled lobster

yep, that’s gonna hurt

standing by the gate

waiting for your arrival

summer light fading

scent, colour, sound, touch

my mother’s flower garden

feast for the senses

outline of mountains

across the perfect clear sky

oh! to be outside

Tanja – Happy July to you too! I think here in Montana that nature is celebrating that we can get out and explore. The wildflowers have been gorgeous. I paid particular attention thanks to your lovely blog post about flowers. There is so much in the natural world to inspire us. -Jill

  3. It has been overly rainy here on the island so extra thanks for reminding me to use my creative imagination for the good, the beautiful and the truth that brings no harm. xoxo

Jason – Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Too often we get wrapped up in our small part of the planet and forget that other parts of our world may be having completely different experiences. I’m glad that my poetry could bring some sunshine to a rainy day! Hugs! -Jill
